Our Purity Protocol

What is Purity Protocol?

What Makes ONLY OATS different?

From our gluten-free oat fields, to our dedicated gluten-free facility, to your home. We take care to provide you with only the highest quality gluten-free oat products that are safe for people with celiac or gluten sensitivities.

Purity Protocol is a unique “Farm to Table” industry benchmark process consisting of safety, purity and traceability protocols that achieves consistent, superior quality certified gluten-free oats.  The main challenge with oats is that they’re normally grown, harvested, transported and stored alongside gluten-containing grains.

All of our growers follow strict safety guidelines from the harvest, cleaning and handling of our oat products. Our oats must be grown in fields that have not had any gluten-contaminate grains such as wheat, rye, or barley for a minimum of 3 years in order to eliminate the risk of cross contamination.

We conduct yearly inspections in order to ensure that our oats are completely free from any of the of the major gluten-contaminants as well as testing the oat samples prior to their delivery to our dedicated milling facilities.

Upon arrival to our dedicated gluten-free milling facility, the oats are put through thorough analysis in order to detect any gluten residue that may be present. If at any point throughout the inspections we find that there is gluten-containing kernels are found in a single sample, the entire load is rejected.

We only allow grains that have passed our inspection to move through to production. To really put things into perspective, Health Canada Regulatory Requirements For Gluten-free Foods states that levels of gluten protein must be below 20 parts per million (ppm). Taking these additional safety steps allows our oats to sit consistently under 5ppm, giving those with Celiac disease and other gluten sensitivities comfort knowing that our product is 100% safe to consume.

Purity Protocol is firmly endorsed by the Canadian Celiac Association (CCA). It specifies how oats can be grown and handled to prevent any cross-contact with wheat or other gluten-containing grains. The idea of Purity Protocol is to “Start Clean and Stay Clean.”
